Bhopal: The Met Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Madhya Pradesh till Monday. Heavy rain has lashed the state in the past 24 hours. According to a department official, the city of Betul in the country received 86 mm of rain between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. on Saturday. In addition, Rajnagar in Chattarpur district received 158.6 mm of rain between Friday morning and Saturday morning.

He said, 20 districts including Bhopal, Indore, Raisen, Rajgarh, Sehore, and Vidisha are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall with warning till Monday morning. The official said that rain or thundershowers may occur at several places in 28 districts including Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Bhind, and Mandla. In Madhya Pradesh, normal life has been disrupted due to rain.

Flood situation continues in several districts and more than 30 people have been killed so far. The Narmada is also in spate in Dhar district. With the closure of the gates of Sardar Sarovar, there is once again fear of drowning among the people. About 300 affected people, led by Medha Patkar under the banner of Narmada Bachao Andolan, have launched the Satyagraha movement. More than 150 people affected by the floods have been shifted to relief camps in Hyderwas village of Mandsaur. The administration has set up 3 relief camps in the area to keep the flood-affected people.
