Heavy rain in several states brought relief from the scorching heat

New Delhi: The intermittent rain for two days in the national capital has brought relief to the people from the scorching heat and heat wave. Due to late night rains on Monday people feel relaxed on Tuesday. People came out of their houses and went to picnic spots to enjoy the pleasant weather. The maximum temperature was recorded at 35 degrees Celsius.

The weather department has predicted light rain and strong winds in the next two to three days. Delhi-NCR received intermittent rain in various parts of the state even after midnight Monday. It also rained on Tuesday morning. The maximum temperature was recorded at 35 degree Celsius, four degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 20.6 degree Celsius, seven degrees below normal. The maximum temperature did not drop so much on June 18 after 2013.

According to the Meteorological Department, 10.6 mm of rain was recorded as of 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The maximum rainfall was 26.8 mm in the Ridge area. The department believes that there has been 53 percent less rainfall than normal in June.  The weather will remain almost the same until June 20. There will be clouds after that, but there is little chance of rain. The temperature is expected to remain below 40 degrees from June 20 to June 22.
