A massive landslide has washed away a major portion of a highway in Arunachal Pradesh, disrupting road connectivity with Dibang Valley, a district bordering China. The district experienced heavy landslides between Hunli and Anini on National Highway-313 due to heavy rainfall over the past few days, according to authorities. Videos showed a portion of the highway missing, making it impossible for vehicles to cross to the other side.

This has posed challenges for locals and security forces who rely on the highway as a lifeline in this challenging terrain. The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has deployed resources to repair the damaged sections of the highway. Currently, there is no shortage of food or other essential supplies.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his concern in an online post about the inconvenience caused to commuters due to the extensive damage on the highway between Hunli and Anini. He stated that instructions have been given to restore connectivity as quickly as possible, as the road is a vital link between Dibang Valley and the rest of the country.
