Kolkata: Heavy raining in several states including Bihar, West Bengal in the country. Due to incessant rains, the water level of many rivers of Bihar has gone up. The water level of the rivers is rising towards the danger mark in view of which people have started looking for safe places for themselves. In Bengal, heavy rains lashed West Midnapore causing flood like situation in Ghatal nagar.

 

The water level of Jhumi river rose considerably due to incessant heavy rains. The water of the river has entered the ghatal. People are using wooden boats for traffic here. Here, a man named Manas said, "A flood-like situation arises every year in Ghatal. Our shops and houses are submerged in flood water. In many places, the water is very deep, so we have to resort to boats to and from". The water level of the river has risen considerably. 50 percent of the water has been submerged. We face this kind of situation every year from June-July to sometimes October. Those who have shops here are not earning any money,' said shopkeeper Ranjeet.

Meanwhile, the situation in Bihar is very bad due to rain. Several areas of Patna, Samastipur, Motihari and Gopalganj have been inundated due to incessant rains for the past several days. The water level of River Ganga, Burhi Gandak, Gandak and Kosi has increased due to incessant rains and they are in spate. Mahananda, Kosi, Bagmati, Burhi Gandak and Gandak rivers are heading towards the danger mark.
