Pune: 7 people have lost their lives due to torrential rains in Pune district of Maharashtra since last night, while 3-4 people are being reported missing. There has been so much rain in the area that the rain water carried away even the vehicles with them. Katraj, Bibwewadi, Upper Indranagar, Dattwadi areas of Pune have been the most affected by the rains. School holiday has been announced today in 5 Tehsils of Pune.

It is being told that a total of 112 mm rainfall has been recorded in Bibwewadi, which is being said to be the highest in the last few decades. 3 teams of NDRF are engaged in relief and rescue operations. One team each is posted in Katraj, Baramati and Corporation office. A wall fell off in Katraj due to heavy rains last night.
