Bhopal: Heavy to very heavy rain has affected most parts of Madhya Pradesh. The Bhopal Centre of Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in 9 districts of the state today. Out of these, 4 districts are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall. Moreover, light rain has been predicted at other places. Shivpuri, Datia, Bhind, and Morena districts are likely to have heavy to very heavy rain. An alert has also been sounded in Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Chhatarpur, and Panna districts for heavy rain. At the same time, the Met department has said that there is also a possibility of thunder and lightning during the rains and therefore, they should not leave the house.

Earlier, P.K. Saha, Senior Meteorologist, Bhopal Meteorological Centre had said, "Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places in Ujjain, Indore, Hoshangabad, Gwalior and Chambal divisions of Madhya Pradesh and Rajgarh, Guna, Shivpuri, Sheopur and Ashoknagar districts." Also inform you that after nearly a month of drought in Madhya Pradesh, the monsoon has now been activated. Heavy to very heavy rain has been predicted in several districts of the state in the next few hours.

The Relief Commissioner of the state has currently written to all collectors and warned more than 30 district collectors of heavy to very heavy rains in these districts in the next few hours. Not only this, but it has also directed to remain alert for disaster management in western and north Madhya Pradesh of the state. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Chhatarpur, Anuppur, Balaghat, Tikamgarh, and Narsinghpur districts of the state in the near future.
