Mumbai: The east Central Arabian Sea near the coast of Maharashtra is likely to become a low pressure area today (Wednesday) i.e. December 01. Meanwhile, another low pressure area is expected to form over the South Andaman Sea. This is expected to strengthen a depression in the south-east and adjoining East Central Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours.

According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, western disturbances could affect the western Himalayas by December 4. According to the Met Department (IMD), Mumbai is expected to receive heavy rain on December 01. IMD has issued a yellow alert for rain today (Wednesday). The Met department has predicted light to moderate rain for Mumbai, Thane and Palghar. According to local information, rain activity is continuing in most parts of Mumbai.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday that a cyclonic storm is likely to hit the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha on Saturday morning. IMD explained that the low pressure area built in and around Thailand could reach the Andaman Sea. According to the Met Department (IMD), heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur in the coastal areas of Odisha. While the districts of Odisha, coastal districts of West Bengal and the north coast of Andhra Pradesh may receive very heavy rainfall.
