HYDERABAD: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued orange alerts for Hyderabad on October 15 and yellow alerts for a number of districts for the following two days.

The orange alert is issued when Meteorological Department expects people to be prepared for very heavy rainfall, severe heat, or cold wave.

However, after torrential rains caused flooding in various parts on Wednesday, the city got a break on Thursday. There were no raindrops on Thursday according to the GHMC guidelines.

According to the IMD, isolated areas of Mancherial, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Peddapally, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Sangareddy, and Kamareddy may likely experience heavy rain on Friday.

Warangal, Hanamkonda, Janagaon, Siddipet, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, and Medchal Malkajigiri may get heavy rain on Saturday. With moderate to severe rain and thunderstorms expected, all areas of Hyderabad have been placed on orange alert for the day.
