Los Angeles: Dwayne Johnson, who is already enjoying the success of "Black Adam," worked hard to get Henry Cavill to reprise his role as Superman after Warner Bros. first had second thoughts.
The DC actor claimed in a video released to Twitter that he wanted to make "Black Adam" "the most powerful, unstoppable force in the DC universe," reports Deadline.
Johnson said how to deal with the latter: "The most potent, unstoppable force in the history of the cosmos must be reintroduced. And you you understand about whom I'm speaking? That is, of course, Superman. And Henry Cavill is that." The studio, Johnson said, "inexplicably and inexcusably," did not want to bring Cavill back, but he was not willing to accept no for an answer, so his team got to work. "This has been years in the making on bringing Henry Cavill back and years of strategic conversations and we were not going to take no for an answer." the report adds.
"Without the most potent force and greatest superhero of all time watching from the sidelines, there was no method and no conceivable logical approach to attempt to expand the DC Universe. It is not feasible", he added.
Johnson went on to say "It all boils down to the fact that Superman must be involved. This is the reason we worked so hard to bring back Henry Cavill as Superman; there was no other Superman, by the way. Henry Cavill is the Superman of our generation and, in my opinion, the best Superman. The best Superman of all time, and I mean that with all due respect to the other actors, notably Christopher Reeve." As per Deadline, Cavill noted that now that he is back in the DC Universe, they can "finally build up the DC Universe, correctly, tactically, and thoughtfully." Johnson said that the "ladder of power in the DC Universe has shifted and, of course, now we have new leadership at DC and at Warner Bros." after the release of the movie.
