Though the Kapoor clan kept their silence about the whole issues, in an interview with Deccan Chronicle, Rishi Kapoor finally opened up about his struggles with cancer. "My eighth month of treatment started on 1 May in the US. However, by the grace of God, I am cancer-free now" He said.

He also acknowledged Neetu Kapoor's role and expressed his gratitude towards her by saying, "Neetu stood by me like a rock. Otherwise, as far as food and drinks are concerned, I am a very difficult person to handle"
