Here is how to update Aadhaar address online without valid address proof

It is very important to update the new or changed address in our documents. One can update the address with te help of documents like. Passport, bank statement/passbook, Voter ID, Driving License, electricity Bill, water bill, Insurance Policy etc. However, if you do not have a valid address proof, you can still update your address using UIDAI Address Validation letter. As per UIDAI portal, you can update your Aadhaar address to where you are presently residing, with the consent and authentication of the address verifier (a family member, relative, friends, and landlord) who is willing to let you use their address as proof.

In order to change address in Aadhaar card online using Aadhaar validation letter, first of all Initiate request- Go to UIDAI portal and Log in with Aadhaar. Enter the Verifier's Aadhaar and you will get an SRN. Then Address Verifier will receive a link for consent on their mobile. The verifier has to click on Link and then log in with Aadhaar to give their consent. After that one the verifier has given their consent, you will receive a confirmation on your registered mobile number. Log in using the SRN and preview the address and then submit your request. At last, the Address Validation Letter will be sent to you by post and you will be required to log in again and provide the secret code received by clicking on ‘proceed to update address' on the portal. Review the new address and submit the final request. For future reference and request tracking, note your Update Request Number(URN).

The resident and address verifier both are required to have their mobile registered/updated in Aadhaar. Both are required to be in sync and in agreement while the request for address validation letter is still in process.

Talking about charge for changing address, online or by post updation of Aadhaar does not include any cost. However, if you ask for the updated Aadhaar to be delivered to your house, you will have to pay Rs 50.
