Niwari: These days the preparations for Ram Janmotsav to be held on Ram Navami in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh are going on in full swing. On Ramnavami, 5 lakh lamps will be lit on the Ram Raja temple premises. The administration has also tightened its gears regarding this Deepotsav. The festival of Ram Navami will be celebrated by lighting lamps in every house and making Rangoli outside the house.

District Magistrate Narendra Suryavanshi says that 5000 volunteers will have a special role in the Deepotsav celebrations. The administration is going door-to-door inviting people to the function. Deepotsav on the Betwa river will be the centre of attraction for the people. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is likely to attend the function. Apart from this, on Ramnavami, the birth aarti and congratulatory songs of Lord Shri Ram will be organized in the temple. A huge procession will be taken out in the morning. About 50 thousand devotees are expected to come to Orchha on Ram Navami.

Ramlila is also to be organized by the Culture Department from April 3 on the banks of the Betwa river. Which will be completed on the day of Ram Navami. The Culture Department is also engaged in preparations regarding this. Although Shri Ram Janmotsav is celebrated all over India, it has double importance in Orchha. In Samvat 1631, Maharani Kuar Ganesh of Orchha had brought Ram Raja Sarkar from Ayodhya to Orchha on Ram Navami and made him sit here as a king. The Ram Raja temple of Orchha, the city of Bundela rulers, is the only temple in the country where Ram Lalla is enshrined as a king. Here there is a relationship between the devotee and God, the king and the subjects. This is the only temple in the country where Ram Raja Sarkar as a king is given an armed salute all three times. Not only this but old royal customs are also followed in this temple.
