According to the report, the petrol and diesel prices change every day at 6 am which is based on the change in cost globally on the last day. It is to be noted that retail prices of fuel in the national capital, Delhi are the cheapest among all metros and most state capitals owing to lower taxes.

Today the petrol is being sold for Rs 73 a litre in Delhi, Rs 75.77 a litre in Chennai, Rs 75.02 per litre in Kolkata and Rs 78.57 per litre in Mumbai. While diesel costs Rs 66.39 per litre in Delhi, Rs 70.10 a lite in Chennai, Rs 68.13 a litre in Kolkata and Rs 69.49 per litre in Mumbai.

1. Use Indian Oil's mobile app Fuel@IOC to know the fuel prices daily in your city. You just need to make an account on this app and access features. There is a 'Locate Us' tab in the app which leads users to a map. This helps to locate the nearest Indian Oil petrol pump. One can track prices and avail of many other interactive features.  

2. To check the indicative prices of petrol and diesel in your city or town for the day, you can SMS "RSPDealer Code of petrol pump” to 92249 92249.

3. You can use Indian Oil’s tool which is located on its to access the 'Pump Locator' facility. Users can locate their nearest IndianOil petrol pump and view the prices of petrol and diesel. Using this, they can also check the various facilities and services offered at these petrol pumps.
