Hero and BPCL collaborate to build EV charging stations in the Nation

The world's largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer Hero MotoCorp and India's leading oil and gas corporation Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) have announced their partnership in order to accelerate India's EV charging infrastructure. Industry powerhouses have banded together to build charging stations for two-wheeled electric vehicles (EVs) across the country.

The world's largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer Hero MotoCorp and India's leading oil and gas corporation Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) have announced their collaboration in order to speed up India's EV charging infrastructure. Industry powerhouses have joined together to build charging stations for two-wheeled electric vehicles (EVs) across the country.

The collaboration also stated that charging stations will be built up across nine cities in the first phase of this statewide electrification programme, beginning with Delhi and Bengaluru. The network will then be expanded to other cities around the country in order to achieve a high density of charging stations.

Hero MotoCorp also stated that infrastructure construction in the two cities would begin soon and that each of the charging stations it will build will have multiple charging ports, including DC and AC chargers, and will be available to all two-wheeled EVs Subsequently, the leading motorcycle producer also announced that the entire user charging experience will be controlled by a Hero MotoCorp Mobile-App and will be a cashless transaction model.
