Ahmedabad: A Team of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Indian Coast Guard (ICG) seized a Pakistani boat with drugs in Gujarat on Wednesday (September 14, 2022). A joint team of ATS and ICG has reportedly seized 40 kg of heroin worth Rs 200 crore from a Pakistani fishing boat in the Arabian Sea off the coast of the state.

According to reports, along with drugs in the boat, the agencies have also arrested 6 Pakistani nationals and now they are being brought to Jakhu for further investigation and action. It is being told that the ICG surveillance team caught this Pakistani boat in this Indian waters 33 nautical miles off the coast of Jakhu in Gujarat. A senior ATS official has informed that 40 kg heroin worth Rs 200 crore has been recovered from a Pakistani fishing boat in the Arabian Sea off the Gujarat coast. The official also said that the smugglers were trying to take the heroin to Punjab by road after landing it on the Gujarat coast.

According to the ATS official, based on a specific input, the agency team had intercepted this Pakistani boat. The boat was intercepted by a joint team of ICG and ATS near Jakhu port in the Kutch district. All six people on board are Pakistani nationals and were scheduled to land on the Gujarat coast with 40 KG of drugs on Wednesday (September 14).
