High alert issued for farmers in this state regarding locust attack

The Haryana government has issued a high alert regarding the locust attack. Medicines are also ready to deal with them. Supervision teams have also been formed to monitor the situation. The government is serious about this matter. In this context, Haryana Chief Secretary Keshani Anand Arora held a meeting with top officials.

Apart from this, Haryana Chief Secretary Keshani Anand Arora instructed the officials of the Agriculture Department and District Administration to take all precautions and make arrangements in advance to deal with the attack of locust in the state. In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Sanjeev Kaushal told that Haryana has also been kept on high alert after the report of the locust attack in neighbouring states of Punjab and Rajasthan.

To deal with the situation and to spread awareness about it, Supervision teams have been formed. Adequate stocks of pesticides ie Chlorpyriphos 20 percent EC and Chlorpyriphos 50 percent EC have been provided through Haryana Land Reforms and Development Corporation to control the locust attack. If necessary, farmers can get pesticides from these agencies. Sanjeev Kaushal told that after the attack on crops in neighbouring states and some other states, these nine districts of Haryana is on high alert. He informed that the Agriculture Department has made available adequate stock of pesticides and formed groups of farmers on WhatsApp.
