High alert, police stationed in UP after Delhi violence

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh police are on alert mode after the violence erupted over the National Capital Delhi Amendment Act (CAA). A high alert has been issued in many sensitive districts of Western UP. UP police officers are patrolling Sambhal, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Gautam Budh Nagar, Shamli, Amroha, Saharanpur.

The police has also been alerted in the capital Lucknow. UP DGP Hitesh Chandra Awasthi has given instructions for special vigilance in cities related to the border of New Delhi. DGP Awasthi has issued an order to patrol senior police officers as well as search suspicious vehicles and people. The police are keeping an eye on this so that groups of people are not able to gather at someplace.

The DGP has directed to take strict action against those spreading the rumor. Along with this, there has also been talking of denying rumors immediately through social media. Instructions have been issued to the LIU and intelligence agencies to remain alert. According to DGP HC Awasthi, sufficient police, PAC and central forces have been made available to sensitive districts. During the CAA demonstration on Sunday in Aligarh, there were incidents of sabotage, arson.
