During the hearing, information was given by the state government that the government wants to give reservation to the OBC class in terms of population in Madhya Pradesh.

No provision in terms of population: According to the information received, in this case, the petitioner has filed an objection saying that recently a decision has been given by a bench of 3 judges of the Supreme Court regarding Maratha reservation and it is being said that In any sense, reservation is not going to be given in the implementation of the population. In the Indira Sawhney case in the year 1993, the Supreme Court justice is clear that there is no provision for reservation in terms of population.

Decision can come on December 1: It has been learned that after listening to both sides, the High Court has fixed the date of debate on all the petitions on December 1. After this, the December 1 decision can be pronounced on the High Court case. At the same time, the percentage of reservation for OBC class was increased from 14% to 27% by the Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh, which was challenged in Madhya Pradesh High Court by different sections. The petition was first filed on this case by medical student Ashita Dubey, after which the ban on increased OBC reservation continues.
