High Court sends notice to Internet companies in the case of petition filed against BlueWhale Game

The Delhi High Court issued a notice on the petition seeking a response from Facebook, Google, and Yahoo in which it has been requested to direct the removal of the link to the internet based suicide game BlueWell Challenge. 

Due to this game, many children have reportedly died in the world. A Bench of Working Chief Justice Geet Mittal and Justice C. Harishankar have also issued the notice to the Centre and Delhi Police and asked them to tell them about the steps which they have raised in this context.

Issuing notice to Indian units of Indian companies, the bench also directed them to file a status report on the steps taken in connection with the compliance of the instructions to stop the online game 'BlueWahle Challenge' in the center.

Advocate Girmit Singh's petition has demanded that any content related to the challenge game be instructed to stop immediately after being uploaded by internet firms. It was cited in the case of suicide in India and abroad due to its suicide.

The court has fixed August 28 as the next date of hearing in this case. All concerned parties have to respond by that time.
