The National Commission for Women's Chairperson applauded the Karnataka High Court's decision to dismiss many petitions challenging the prohibition on hijab in educational institutions. According to NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma, "I applaud the Karnataka High Court's ruling since, as the Court stated, it is not a religious practise according to the Quran. Second, when a student enters a class or an institute, they must adhere to the institute's norms and regulations."

"Girls and women have the right to wear whatever they want, and nothing should stand in their way," the NCW chairman said, supporting the court's decision. "However, inside an educational institution, students must, in my opinion, respect the dress code imposed by the administration," she added.

According to Sharma, wearing a uniform in any institute means that everyone is on the same level. "No one should be classified according to their social class, caste, or religion. Uniforms are worn so that no one can tell who belongs to which religion and that everyone is treated equally." "As a result, I applaud the High Court's judgement and hope that students will immediately return to class because education should not be harmed. Students should not be put in this situation."
