Bangalore: The controversy over wearing hijab in schools and colleges in Karnataka has come to an end today. The Karnataka High Court has upheld the ban on wearing hijab inside educational institutions. Along with this, all the petitions challenging the order given against the hijab have been turned down by the court. A bench of Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Justice Krishna Dixit and Justice JM Khaji gave its verdict on the matter.

Meanwhile, the lawyer for the pro-hijab students has said that the decision will be challenged in the Supreme Court on their behalf. Lawyer Anas Tanveer tweeted that, 'Met my clients in Udupi on Hijab controversy. Insha Allah we will go to Supreme Court soon. Hopefully these girl students will be able to continue their education with their right to wear hijab. There is still hope of these girl students on the courts and the Constitution.

Muslim Personal Law Board welcomed the court's decision :-

At the same time, Shaista Amber, a member of the All India Muslim Women Personal Law Board, has welcomed the decision of the High Court on the demand for hijab. Regarding the decision of the High Court, he said that if educational institutions make such a rule, then we will have to follow it. It is true that hijab is not a necessary part of Islam. Women are told to live decently in Islam.

In such a situation, the question arises that when Shaista Amber, a member of the All India Muslim Women Personal Law Board, is also saying that the hijab is not a necessary part of Islam and the full bench of the High Court has also given its verdict. So what is the need to take the matter to the Supreme Court unnecessarily. Although every Indian has every right to approach the highest court of the country, but no one has the right to play with the judiciary just to create controversy or disturb the social environment. It is also worth noting here that, till a few months ago, who was involved in instigating the girls going to school in uniform, why suddenly they started insisting so much about the hijab?
