Hike in Mizoram’s COVID positivity rate, logs 658 new case

The COVID positivity rate has risen drastically in Mizoram. On Monday, the COVID positivity rate in Mizoram increased to 30.50 % up from 26.45 percent the day before. On Monday, Mizoram reported 658 new COVID-19 cases, down from 1096 the day before.

The latest cases brought the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state to 1,85,885, according to a health department official. He stated the death toll remained at 623 since no new fatalities had been registered in the last 24 hours. 

According to him, the new instances were discovered after testing 2157 samples. According to him, Aizawl district had the most new cases, with 360, followed by Lunglei district (80), and Mamit district (70). Mizoram presently has 14,006 active COVID-19 cases, with 1,71,256 persons having recovered from the disease.

COVID-19 patients have a recovery rate of 92.13 percent and a mortality rate of 0.33 percent. COVID-19 has been tested in over 17.14 lakh samples in the northeastern state thus far. Dr Lalmuanawma Jongte, the state vaccination officer, said that over 7.97 lakh individuals have been inoculated so far, with 6.17 lakh receiving the full dose.
