On Friday, Athlete Hima Das won the  in the 58th National Inter-State Athletics Championships.
Das measured 51.13 seconds to take over Nirmala Sheoran from Haryana and grabbed the first position at the Indira Gandhi Stadium.
Hima had won the 200m earlier this but seemed in trouble with Sheoran when she began a sizable lead at the final bend. However, the 18-years-old athlete ran in the 5th lane and grabbed pace to leave behind Sheoran who ran in the 3rd lane.
The third position was grabbed by Prachi, from Uttar Pradesh who invested a time of 52.96 seconds. 
Dutee Chand, from the women's 100m and Arokia Rajiv from Men's 400m, were amongst the others to cross the qualifying standards which have been set by. Other sprinters who crossed the qualifying standards set by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI). 

Two other athletes cleared the AFI's qualification standards in the men's triple jump. Arpinder Singh qualified the 17m race, four years after winning a jump of 17.09 m. 
Reports suggest that the Selection committee may meet on the 30th of July at 5 pm at their Delhi Headquarters to select players for the Indian team.
