Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh High Court, in collaboration with National Judicial Academy, Bhopal, is all set to organize a 2-day meet in Shimla beginning April 29 with a focus to offer a forum for the exchange of experiences and dissemination of best practices among the participants, an official statement read.
"Contemporary Judicial Developments and Strengthening Justice Through Law and Technology" is the theme of the conference, which is formally known as the "North Zone- II Regional Conference."
Judges from the Supreme Court, High Courts, and Judicial Officers from the High Courts in Delhi, Punjab and Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh are invited to the conference.
About 160 people are expected to attend the two-day seminar, including judges from the Supreme Court and the High Court. "The conference is being hosted with the aim to provide a forum for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and dissemination of best practises among participant Judges and Judicial Officers, under the respective High Court's Jurisdiction," as per reprot.
The purpose of the conference is to foster communication among participating judges from various judicial echelons on topics such as Contemporary Trends in Constitutional Law, the Precedential Value of High Court Judgements, the Development of Criminal Law, Overview of the eCourts Project, and Emerging and Future Technology for Effective Judicial Governance.
There will be five sessions total, three of which will take place on April 29 and two on April 30. Judges from various jurisdictions in the area will be able to share experiences on important topics and create fresh perspectives and adjudication techniques via interactive sessions.
Judges of the Indian Supreme Court who are now sitting and retired will be among the resource people. According to the court's public relations division, sitting and retired Chief Justice judges of High Courts and subject matter specialists.
