Shimla: In collaboration with the Department of Environmental Science and Technology, Sada is preparing to set up a Waste to Energy plant in Kufri. At the same time, before the summer tourist season, the plant has been targeted for trial in April. Around 1240 horses are registered for horse riding to tourists in Kufri. At the same time, tourists have trouble due to the foul smell caused by their droppings. The environment is also being harmed.

According to information received from the sources, it has been learned that the drinking water sources around Lucky are also getting contaminated due to the dirt. Waste to energy plant has been prepared in Kufri for about three and a half crores to solve the problem. There is a plan to make methane and CNG gas from horse waste and waste in this plant. The methane gas will be transported from the pipeline to Kufri's hotels. There are plans to operate golf carts with CNG gas. Waste to energy plant is to be set up on PPP mode. The company with which the MoU has been signed has prepared and built its plant in Jaipur. There is snow in Kufri, the place where the plant is proposed to be set up. Therefore, after melting the snow, the plant will be set up and tested by April. The head of Kufri Panchayat, Anjana Chauhan told that there is a plan to set up a plant on the way from Kufri market to ChiniBangla.

Plants set up for environmental protection: When it was discussed, DC Rana, Director of the Department of Environmental Science and Technology, said that the West to Energy plant is being set up in Kufri for a permanent solution to the horse dung problem. . For environmental protection, methane and CNG gas will be made from horse waste in the plant.
