Shimla: BJP MLA Narinder Baragata passed away on Saturday morning from Jubbal Kotkhai seat in Himachal Pradesh. He was 69 years old. A few days ago, he had recovered from the corona and returned home. He was battling post covid complication after recovering from the infection after which he was admitted to a hospital in Chandigarh where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

His son Chetan Singh Baragata posted on Facebook reporting his death. Narinder Singh Baragata was also the Chief  Whip in the Himachal government and a minister in the previous governments. His son Chetan posted on Facebook stating that his father had been ill for a long time. He has also appealed not to mobilize crowds due to corona infection. According to information on the Himachal Assembly website, Narinder Singh Baragata was born in Shimla on September 15, 1952.

He started his political career with his student life. He was also the President of Janata Yuva Morcha from 1978 to 1982. At the same time, the BJP has held several big positions in Himachal. In 1998, Narinder Singh Baragata was elected MLA from Shimla seat for the first time. He was also made a minister only after he became MLA for the first time. This was followed by the second assembly from Jubbal Kotkhai seat in 2007. For the third time, Jubbal was re-elected from Kotkhai in the 2017 elections MLA.
