Shimla: Another fraud has been unearthed in the state of Himachal Pradesh by government employees who received hefty salaries. These employees first took ration at affordable prices given to BPL families and now took advantage of Rs 2.5 crores of Kisan Samman Fund. This amount is of the farmer families of Kangra district alone. In other districts also, there is an apprehension of such a scam.

The Income Tax department looked at the tactics of the government employees who had been entitled to the poor farmers and told about the entire scam. The district administration is now making a list of about 2500 government employees and retired personnel who have been belching 2.5 crores of Kisan Samman Fund at tehsil level. After making the list, the administration will recover 2.5 crores from them. Summons will be issued to government employees for recovery. For taking the advantage of this scheme, the farmer must have a cultivated land.

It is clearly written in the Kisan Samman Fund's application that serving or retired government employees, former MPs, ministers cannot avail the benefit of the scheme. The retired government servant whose pension is more than Rs. 10, 000 cannot be taken advantage of. 2500 government and retired employees have applied for Rs. 2.5 crores to the Kisan Samman Fund so far. After the application, the applications in government offices were not properly checked, which resulted in the fraud.
