Himachal Pradesh: Death toll in Solan tragedy rises to 13, more bodies can be trapped

Shimla: The death toll in the incident at Kumarhatti in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh has risen to 13 at 4 pm on Sunday evening. Rescue teams have recovered 3 more bodies buried under the debris of Building on Monday, adding that the death toll is increasing. Among those killed in the incident includes 12 army personnel and 2 civilians.

It is worth mentioning here that more than 40 people were affected by the collapse of the city in Kumarhatti. The death toll has risen to 13 after rescue operations had recovered the bodies of seven people by late Sunday evening. The death toll is likely to rise further. Rescue operations are still going on at the site of the incident. Some people are still reported to be trapped in the debris of the building.

While some army personnel had rushed to the spot for dinner, the incident took place and, among others, they were buried under the rubble. In Himachal Pradesh, CHIEF Jai Ram Thakur has reached the spot to inspect the situation and also met the family members of the deceased and the injured. Chief Minister Jairam Thakur termed the incident as unfortunate and assured all possible help to the families of the deceased.
