New Delhi: In a meeting with Union Minister for Rural Development Giriraj Singh on Monday in the national capital, Minister Vikramaditya Singh of Himachal Pradesh urged him to expedite the Center's approval of the state's Pradhan Mantri Gramme Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) projects.
Youth Services and Sports Minister Vikramaditya Singh informed the Union Minister at the meeting that Himachal Pradesh had filed Detailed Project Reports (DPR) for 242 roads totaling 2565 km in length and costing Rs 2813 crores under PMGSY-III.
The Congress leader urged for quick approvals, noting that the state's PMGSY III target is 3125 km, of which 440 km had already received clearance under Batch 1 during the previous fiscal year.
Vikramaditya Singh further stated that with PMGSY III, the state hopes to improve rural road connection. He urged that the Union Minister that Himachal Pradesh had submitted DPRs of 242 roads having a total length of 2,565 km to be built at a cost of Rs 2,813 crore under the PMGSY-III. He also said that the state had a target of building 3,125 kilometers of roads under the PMGSY-III and 440 kilometers of these were approved under Batch-1 in the previous financial year. The Union Minister assured him of all possible support after hearing all the demands.
