GUWAHATI:  Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi for calling India a union of states. He has called Rahul Gandhi a tutor for JNU students. Along with this, while criticizing Rahul Gandhi on the word Union of State, Himanta said, 'If India is a union of states, then where has our culture of 5000 gone? If India is a Union of State, it means you are making every heritage of India in dispute. India is our soul. The people of Assam fought a war to stay in India and not go to Pakistan. Rahul Gandhi is explaining to the public as if there is an agreement between two people. Before independence, the countrymen considered Gandhi ji as their leader, then was there any written agreement between the public and Gandhi ji?'

CM Sarma said, "When the name Indian National Congress (INC) was coined and conferences were held from place to place, was there any written agreement of the Union of State? I don't know who is Rahul Gandhi's current advisor. The word 'Union of State' is something that breaks the country. Indirectly, Rahul Gandhi is motivating the separatist elements of the country. Where did Ramayana, Mahabharata, Chanakya, Chandragupta, Lachit Wodafukan, Chhatrapati Shivaji, Maharana Pratap, etc. go? I am not blaming Rahul Gandhi. Perhaps Rahul Gandhi would have been given JNU tuition, which would have taught him all this.''

CM Sarma said, "There is a difference between the federalism of the US and India. India has been a country culturally since day one. At one point of time, the Kamrup state of Assam extended to Ayodhya. The name of the people from the south and up to Assam is Krishna. Ram is everywhere. If someone comes like this and makes India a 'Union of States' by entering into an agreement, it cannot happen. What Rahul Gandhi is saying has been taught to him. It is also their compulsion.''
