Guwahati: A statement by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma provoked the Congress. In his statement, he took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying that the face of the Congress leader has changed and he looks more like Saddam Hussein. Congress leader Digvijaya Singh hit back at Himanta Biswa's statement, saying he should be ashamed of speaking such an unrestrained thing about Rahul Gandhi.  

Digvijay Singh said, 'Whatever Himanta Biswa is today is because of Rahul Gandhi, so he should speak thoughtfully.' However, Jairam Ramesh said that the issue is over now so it should not be discussed. On the other hand, regarding the Gujarat elections, Digvijay Singh said that the Congress party is contesting the elections well there.

CM Himanta Biswa had said, "I had said in an interview a few days ago that there is no problem with Rahul Gandhi's new look, but if you have to change your look, at least make it like Vallabhbhai Patel or Jawaharlal Nehru. It's even better if you look like Gandhiji, but why do you look like Saddam Hussein now?" Not only this, Biswa further said that the culture of Congress is not close to that of India. Congress's behavior is close to those who have not yet understood India. The Congress had expressed strong opposition to this. Actually, Himanta Biswa is campaigning in Gujarat before the assembly elections. He also went on a Delhi tour for the upcoming MCD elections.
