These days, the debate about Hindi on social media continues. In fact, South film actor Kichcha Sudip said that Hindi is not the national language of the country and after he said this, Bollywood's hero Ajay Devgan put his class on Twitter. However, even before any dispute between the two stars escalated, there was a reconciliation between them, but a debate started on social media on whether Hindi was the national language of Hindustan or not. Now what does the constitution of the country say about it and which language is officially recognized as the national language? 


Hindi is not a national language – let me tell you all that India is a country of diversity and that is its biggest identity. There are many languages and dialects spoken, written and read here. Yes, and because of this, no single language has been given the status of the national language. In fact, a large population of India is Hindi speaking, but a large number of people do not speak Hindi nor understand it. Nor is there any obligation for everyone to learn and speak one national language.  

Why do we celebrate Hindi Day on September 14?- India does not have a national language due to its various cities, but Hindi has been given the status of official language to create a linguistic basis for working in government offices. At the same time, in Part 17 of the Constitution, important provisions related to this have also been made.  


When did Hindi become the official language?- Hindi got the status of official language on September 14, 1949. Yes, and after this, since 1953, the Official Language Publicity Committee started organizing the Hindi the Vis on September 14 every year.

What does the Constitution of the country say on the official language?- Article 343(1) of Part 17 of the Constitution of India says that the official language of the nation is Hindi and the script will be Devanagari.  

What is called mother tongue? Mother tongue is the language that we learn with birth. Yes, and where we are born, we learn the language spoken by ourselves. If we look at it in an easy language, then the language that we learn first after birth is considered as our mother tongue.
