Hyderabad: A Hindu girl who converted to Islam to marry a Muslim lover in Kamareddy district of Telangana has reportedly ended her life by self-immolation. The two got married a few months ago. According to media reports, Sravanti had renamed herself Sheikh Sameera after conversion to nikah from a Muslim youth named Salman. But, on May 24, it was found that his body was found hanging in the house.

The girl's family has raised doubts about Salman and his family for the whole incident. Sravanti's family members say Salman, his uncle and his aunt should be arrested in connection with the murder of their daughter. Devanipalli police have registered a complaint in this regard. Further investigation is underway in the matter. 19-year-old Sravanti, a resident of Indira Nagar Colony in Kamarreddy district, had married Salman on January 7, 2021. For this, he first left his religion and converted to Islam, then changed his name to Sheikh Samira.

On May 24, it was discovered that Sravanti had hanged herself in the house. The family saw the body of the daughter and said that there were bruises near her daughter's throat. He alleged that his daughter was beaten to death, so Salman and his family should be booked for mentally and physically harassing Sravanti.
