NEW DELHI: In Chennai, workers of the Bharat Hindu Front made official "marriage" between a dog and a donkey as a marking of protest against Valentine’s Day.

In Ahmedabad, 'Moral police' turned out in full force in various parts of India against the celebration of Love- birds’ Day on Wednesday.

  As per the report of Times Now, self-proclaimed 'lovebirds' chased couples Members of the Bajrang Dal harassed couples at the city's Sabarmati Riverfront also reported ANI.

In a while they were under arrested.

The saffron group also staged protests against Valentine's Day in Hyderabad.

The right-wing group had yesterday also held a rally in opposition to Valentine's Day in Nagpur. It had warned couples against visiting public areas and threatening to get them married.

"If they have the right to celebrate Valentine's Day, we have the right to protect our heritage," they had claimed.

On Tuesday, Lucknow University had announced February 14 a holiday - not for Valentine's Day, but for the Hindu festival 'Mahashivratri'.

"In recent years, we have observed that students, influenced by western culture, celebrate Valentine's Day on February 14. In this connection, students are notified that the university will be closed on February 14, 2018, for 'Mahashivratri'," said the university advisory, according to ANI.
