Bangalore:  On support of their demand to be able to hold Hindu festivals in the Idgah Maidan, several Hindu organisations have called for a massive rally and given bandh call on July 12.

In Bengaluru's Jangama Mutt, the Hindu organisations have already held a meeting to discuss the matter. The activists demand that the Idgah Maidan be designated as a playground for all.

A total of 25 Hindu organisations and regional organisations have banded together to file a lawsuit and refute the Wakf Board's allegations on the Idgah Maidan.

In Chamarajpet, the organisations are doing a door-to-door campaign to create awareness about the need of preserving the Idgah Maidan as a playground.

They have also slammed the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) for taking a contradictory stance on the property. Idgah Maidan was once alleged to be BBMP property, however, this was later refuted. Hindu organisations have denounced the BBMP and urged the BJP-led administration to step in and fix the issue.

The activists have also suggested that, in accordance with the Supreme Court's ruling, Muslims should be permitted to pray twice a year, with the remaining days being designated for playground use.  The bandh will be observed in the  Chamarajpet locality, and Hindu activists and the local organisations are taking a massive bike rally on July 12 from Sirsi Circle to Idgah Maidan.
