Lucknow: The matter of survey of Gyanvapi Mosque complex in Kashi in Uttar Pradesh and Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah Masjid in Mathura is still sub-judice in court that a dispute has also started over the mound mosque in Lucknow. In fact, Hindutva organisations have staked their claim over the historic 'mounded mosque' in Lucknow. He says that in fact it was not a mounded mosque but a 'Lakshman Mound'.

Hindu organizations have demanded to install the idol in front of the mounded mosque. He talked about reciting the Hanuman Chalisa and performing padayatra there. However, the police have banned the padayatra leading up to the mosque and detained Rishi Trivedi, the head of the state unit of the Hindu Mahasabha. The Imam of the mosque, Syed Fazlul Mannan, warned that the Muslim side would oppose the padyatra. After the arrest of Rishi Trivedi, hundreds of activists of the Hindu Mahasabha gheraoed the police station and demanded the immediate release of Dwivedi.

A senior police officer said, "Laxman Tila Mukti Sankalp Yatra has been banned. Security personnel were deployed on the roads leading to the mosque.'' The Hindu Mahasabha had announced to take out the Lakshman Tila Mukti Yatra from the 1090 intersection to different parts of the city.
