BHUBANESWAR:Team India remain the only from Asia as the top eight squads at the ongoing Hockey World Cup gear up to fight it out in the quarterfinals at the Kalinga stadium from Wednesday. In The final list European nations - the Netherlands, England, France, Germany and Belgium - flexing their muscles alongside Argentina and defending champions Australia has been included.

Worth mention here on Wednesday, Olympic champions Argentina run into England. On the other hand dark horses France will match up against Australia while on Thursday, India will face Netherlands and in another match Germany will cross the swords with Belgium.

Whilst Australia will begin overwhelming favorites in opposition to France, who are making a World Cup appearance after 28 years.Victor Charlet's men did show they can put up a clash against the best with their 5-3 win big success against Argentina in the pool stage.

Even as the Frenchmen thrashed about past China 1-0 in the crossovers, the powerful Kookaburras got through to the quarterfinals with no any hiccups.

In the three matches they have played thus far, they have accepted just one goal and scored 16, including 11 in opposition to China.
