Hollywood's leading filmmaker Harvey Weinstein, the lead character of the worldwide Me-Two campaign and serving a 23-year sentence in the rape and sexual harassment case, has been transferred from the hospital to a New York government prison. On Thursday, just before he turned 68, Weinstein was placed in the maximum-security Vendé Correctional Facility. Weinstein, who gave world-famous film these days, has been kept behind bars as prisoner number 20-B / 0584. Weinstein is to be kept for some time in this government prison, about 300 kilometers from Manhattan. During this time it will be evaluated which jails meet their safety and medical needs.

Let us tell you that Weinstein was sentenced last week after being convicted on 24 February. Weinstein complained of chest pain after this decision. After this he was admitted to the hospital where he was put on a stent. Weinstein, the Oscar-winning producer of the film 'Shakespeare in Love', was convicted in 2013 of raping a Hollywood actress and forcibly having sex on a TV and film production assistant in 2006.

Weinstein's lawyers called the court's decision to send Weinstein to jail a drastic step. They have said that they are appealing against this decision. Let me tell you that the court has been closed due to Corona crisis, so they have been sent to jail for the time being.
