Hollywood actor Maverick Quentin Tarantino has expressed doubts over his plans to make an R-rated 'Star Trek' film and said that he is 'steering away' from it. Tarantino has been involved with a new installment in the long-running sci-fi film franchise for months, after being told that after making a successful pitch for an edgier story to studio executives at Paramount Pictures.

Previous reports suggested that a screenplay is in development, but Tarantino now said that he is moving away from the 'Star Trek' project, for which he has never signed an official deal. He said, "I think I am moving away from 'Star Trek ', but I have not yet had an official conversation with those people (Studio Boss)." The last K Star Trek movie, 'Tre Star Trek Beyond', was released in 2016 and featured Chris Pine as Captain Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Spock. On the other hand, Tarantino said that he chose to withdraw his latest release 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' and he had already taken it away from film production after completing his 10th film.

He further said, "I have pressured myself to make that last big voila type statement. I mean, there was a moment to such a degree when I was writing (this) and went, 'Should I do this now? Should I do anything else? Is this the 10th?" Tarantino decided not to unduly delay the project, and although he still plans to bow down after film number 10, he doesn't think his final film will be another big production, such as" Once Upon a Time in Hollywood '.
