Hyderabad: A Home Guard working with Langer Houz police station was injured while trying to disperse two groups clashing at a cremation ground on Sunday evening. According to the reports, a newly-married woman committed suicide by hanging herself in the bathroom. It is alleged that she took this extreme step due to depression. This incident took place in the area which falls under the jurisdiction of Narsingi Police Station.

The deceased is identified as Kruthika Reddy (24). She had got married to Ramakrishna Reddy two months ago. The body after a post-mortem examination was handed over to the family members on Sunday. Rama Krishna Reddy, the husband of Krithika, also came to participate in the final rites. After the cremation, some persons from the woman’s family tried to attack Krishna Reddy. When the Home Guard Mohd Amair tried to intervene, some persons hurled a stone at him resulting in a head injury. A case was registered against an unidentified person who hurled a stone at the policeman.

As per the details furnished by Narsingi Inspector, Mr. G.V. Raman Goud, the woman was suffering from depression. On Saturday morning, when Kruthika did not come out of the bathroom, Ramakrishna broke open the door and found her hanging from the ceiling, Inspector said. Police registered a case and started an investigation.
