New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today greeted the people of Telangana and the Marathwada region on the occasion of Hyderabad Liberation Day. In fact, the Home Minister said in a statement, "The country will always be indebted to those who laid down their lives for the unity of the country.'' With this, Amit Shah will visit Telangana today i.e. You can see that he took to his Twitter account wishing Hyderabad Liberation Day and wrote in the caption, "Congratulations to the people of Telangana and Marathwada region on Hyderabad Liberation Day. You can see he also posted a picture of Sardar Patel along with his tweet. Let me tell you all that on 17th September 1948, after the military action of the then Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the then State of Hyderabad was merged with the Indian Union. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will now address a public meeting in Nirmal city of Telangana today. The meeting is said to be being organized by the BJP on the occasion of 'Telangana Liberation Day.' Let me tell all of you that the BJP recently said, "This meeting is taking place in memory of the sacrifices of freedom fighters who fought against the Nizam and the Razakars.''
You must all know that Nirmal city has witnessed the martyrdom of 1000 people while fighting the British and the Nizam. In fact, the country got independence on 15th August 1947, but the then State of Hyderabad (under Nizam rule) was merged with the Indian Union on 17th September 1948. The BJP has been demanding for many years that the day be officially celebrated as 'Telangana Liberation Day,' and the meeting is expected to raise the BJP's demand to officially celebrate the day.
