New Delhi: Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed's son Hafiz Talha Saeed has been declared a terrorist by the Home Ministry. According to the notification issued by the ministry, Talha was a senior leader of the terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba and the chief of the cleric wing. It is to be noted that the action against Talha was taken on a day when Pakistan's anti-terrorism court also sentenced Hafiz Saeed, the chief of banned outfit Jamaat-ud-Dawa, to 31 years in jail.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has declared Hafiz Saeed's son Talha a terrorist under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. According to the notification, Talha Saeed was "actively involved in recruiting, raising funds, planning and planning attacks on India's stakes in India and Afghanistan." The notification further said that Talha Saeed used to visit the centres of Lashkar-e-Toiba in Pakistan and preach jihad against Indian interests in India, Israel, the US and other western countries during sermons.

According to the notification issued by the Home Ministry, "The Central Government is of the view that Hafiz Talha Saeed was involved in terrorism and Hafiz Talha Saeed should be notified as a terrorist under the law.''
