Home Ministry issues advisory regarding crimes against women

New Delhi: The government is facing a lot of criticism due to the increasing cases of crime against women. The Yogi government of the state is surrounded by the Hathras case of UP. The opposition is besieging the government on increasing cases of crime against women. Now the central government has also come into action. The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued advisories for all states and union territories.

In the advisory issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been clearly said that filing an FIR is mandatory. There should be no delay in this. The provisions of IPC and CRPC should be ensured. Medical examination should be done within 24 hours of receiving information about the rape. The Ministry of Home Affairs has asked the states to take strict action against the negligent officers. The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that there is a provision for action under Section 166A (C) of IPL against the officer who did not register an FIR. Even if the crime is outside the border of the police station, there is a provision of zero FIR in the law.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has also given instructions regarding the investigation in cases of rape. The Home Ministry has said that according to Section 173 of the CRPC, there is a provision for investigation in the rape case within two months. For this, referring to its online portal, the Ministry has said that from here the investigation can be monitored.
