Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh (MP) Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Monday said that if Kashmiri Pandits want to go back to their native place of Jammu and Kashmir, the state government will help the displaced Kashmiri Pandits. However, Home Minister Mishra did not share any data on how many Kashmiri Pandits are living in Madhya Pradesh.

According to the report, in response to a question, the Home Minister said, "I appeal to the Kashmiri Pandit brothers and sisters living in Madhya Pradesh to inform the Home Department if they want to return." We will ensure their return and make arrangements. To a question on Congress Rajya Sabha member Vivek Tankha's remarks that he will not watch the Hindi film 'The Kashmir Files' as he knows the pain of the displaced persons, Mishra said, "Those who want to go back to Kashmir, I will appeal to Tankha to give a list of such Kashmiri Pandits."

Last week, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan had promised land to 'The Kashmir Files' director Vivek Agnihotri to set up a 'museum' in the state, saying the film shows the pain and sufferings of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community. However, Congress MP Digvijay Singh had opposed such a museum, saying that he would not allow communal harmony in Bhopal to deteriorate. Agnihotri's movie has triggered a war over the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Valley. That's the issue that is increasing day by day.
