A French report revealed in the past suggests that Honda may be working on a new version of its popular touring motorcycle, named Deauville. According to the French motorcycle website, the new Honda Deauville will be based on the existing Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin. As per the report, the new bike will be powered by the same 998cc, liquid-cooled engine producing 100bhp and 97Nm of torque. The engine will be equipped with dual-clutch transmission DCT.

According to media reports, the mid-range touring motorcycle Honda Deauville was produced from 1998 to 2013 and was named after the popular French seaside resorts. The old Deauville will feature a liquid-cooled V-Twin engine and features a first-generation 650cc V-Twin engine model with a shaft drive. The second-generation model was made up to 2002-2005 with feature updated bodywork, large paneers, and some technical modifications. The third-generation model (2006-2013) was built with an engine of 680cc.

For your information, Honda has the same Africa Twin Adventure Touring model as a touring model, and Honda Gold Wing is at the luxury end of the touring. Deauville may well cater to a niche segment which doesn't seem to have too many models in the touring category from many manufacturers at this stage.
