Raipur: A  horrific accident took place on the National Highway in Chhattisgarh's Sarguja last night. The sumo vehicle loaded with police personnel overturned uncontrollably after being hit by a passenger bus. Five policemen were badly injured in the accident. All the injured were taken to the nearby Lakhanpur Hospital in a Sanjeevani Express 108 ambulance. Where the injured were treated by doctors and nurses on night duty. Many jawans also suffered internal injuries in the accident. The case is being reported from Lakhanpur police station area.

Accident in overtake: Information has been received from Royal Bus No. CG04/MS/8542 via Ambikapur-Bilaspur National Highway-130, which was on its way from Ambikapur towards Raipur with passengers. On the same route, some police personnel from Balrampur district had also left for Bilaspur in sumo vehicle number CG03/4627. Who had reached near Gudri Bazar in Lakhanpur at around 11:00 pm. In the meantime, the driver of the speeding Royal bus coming from behind overtook and hit the vehicle of the police personnel. Due to which the bus went unchecked and hit the slab of the house built on the side of the road. At the same time, the sumo vehicle of the police personnel overturned on the road.

Internal injuries to police personnel: In the accident, five jawans in the sumo vehicle also suffered internal injuries in their hands, legs and several body parts. The passengers on the bus were safe. As soon as information about the accident was received on the national highway, Ramdas Paikra, driver of Sanjivani Express Ambulance 108, EMT Harish Rajak rushed to the spot and took the injured police personnel to Lakhanpur Community Health Centre for treatment. Where first aid was given by Dr. PS Kerketta, dresser Mahavir Rajwade, Sharad Gupta and staff nurses.
