Lucknow: A shocking case has been reported from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh. Here a husband and wife have been murdered. The bodies of the two were recovered on the roadside near Janata Inter College Ambari in Phulpur Kotwali area on Thursday morning. From the look of the body, it seemed that both of them had been killed by a current. The family members sat on the road with the body demanding the arrest of the accused. A large number of police have been deployed at the spot. The cause of the incident is said to be a land dispute.
Inderpal Maurya, a resident of Para village under Ahraula police station area, used to run a general store shop in Phulwaria. He along with his wife Shakuntala Maurya had gone to Shahganj market in Jaunpur on a motorcycle on Tuesday to get medicines, from where the two did not return home till late in the evening. The family members called him on his mobile. Inderpal picked up the phone and told him that they were in distress. After that, his mobile was switched off. The family searched for both of them all night.
In the meantime, there was a commotion in the morning as soon as the news of the body was found. The couple's body was found in Ambari, eight km from home, on Thursday morning. His bike was also found nearby. The couple's clothes were in a mess. Both of their faces were black. People are fearing to kill by applying current. Inderpal's nephew Pradeep Maurya has lodged a complaint alleging that some people may have been murdered over a property dispute. On the orders of the SP, the police have registered a report against three persons, including a woman.
