Lucknow: 10 Hindu families have decided to leave their homes and flee at Colonelganj in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Hindu families there say they are being pressured to either convert to Islam and become Muslims or leave their homes. The victims' families said their lives are being threatened every day as Muslim are always doing some kind of thing to scare them.

According to media reports, the incident took place in the railway track area of Colonelganj police station area. On Saturday (June 20, 2021), he remained in fear all night. A family said the daughter of their house was molested and when the brothers protested, they entered their house and were assaulted. He also tried to rape the girl. A case has also been registered against 9 nominees and 3 unidentified persons. The police had also arrested 3 accused in the case, but the family alleged that 2 of them somehow managed to escape. Some Hindu families have also written the message of migration outside their homes. A domineering figure in the locality is accused of threatening to avenge the cases registered by the victims as soon as the Yogi government goes and the SP government comes.

Briefing about the incident of molestation and assault, Kanpur Municipal Commissioner Asim Arun said that it was a case involving two communities and the accused have been arrested. He said that he is aware that the citizens there are feeling insecure and we are in constant touch with them. He said 'No one will be allowed to threaten or feel insecure to their neighbour, everyone has the right to live on their property'.
