Legendary music composer A R Rahman has recorded a special 30-minute performance video to support Vice President Kamala Harris in her presidential campaign, scheduled for November 5. This initiative is expected to significantly energize her efforts as she prepares for the upcoming elections.

At 57 years old, Rahman is the first major international artist from South Asia to publicly endorse Harris, who has a diverse heritage of Indian and African roots.

“With this performance, A R Rahman has added his voice to a chorus of leaders and artists who are standing up for progress and representation in America,” said Shekar Narasimhan, chairman of the AAPI Victory Fund. He emphasized that this event transcends music; it serves as a rallying cry for communities to engage and vote for the future they envision.

This endorsement highlights the importance of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) voters in the election and showcases the growing momentum behind the Harris-Walz ticket.

The exclusive performance will be streamed on the AAPI Victory Fund’s YouTube channel and shared across prominent South Asian networks, including AVS and TV Asia. This strategy aims to mobilize support for Kamala Harris among South Asian voters globally.

The broadcast is set for October 13 at 8 PM. During the 30-minute show, Rahman will perform some of his most cherished songs, along with messages that underscore Kamala Harris’s historic candidacy and her dedication to the AAPI community. A teaser video featuring Rahman and Indiaspora Founder M R Rangaswami preparing for the performance has also been released on YouTube.
