New Delhi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has responded in the House over the Indian missile that has accidentally landed in Pakistan. Rajnath Singh said in the House that the incident which took place inadvertently is regrettable, our missile system is extremely safe and reliable. 

During the routine maintenance and instruction of the missile unit, a missile was released at around 7 pm, which landed on the border of Pakistan. The incident is regrettable, but it is a matter of relief that there has been no damage caused by this incident. The defence minister further said that the government has taken the incident very seriously and a high-level inquiry has been ordered into it. The exact cause of the alleged accident will be known only after investigation. 

Rajnath Singh said that the standard operating procedure for operations, maintenance and instructions is also being reviewed regarding the incident. We give the highest priority to the safety and security of our weapon systems. If any defects are found in this regard, it will be removed soon. He assured the House that our missile system is extremely safe and reliable.
